Note:  Priority access is available for people who have never attended a Genie Retreat Weekend! Priority access lasts for 10 days, so on  4/18 at 7 CT anyone can sign up for remaining spaces.

This over the top retreat weekend is full of PRIDE themed cookies and ABBA music.
Saturday night will include a fun costume party so start thinking of dressing to match your favorite ABBA tune!

Alex Copeland
Plenty O’Cookies (Ohio)

Alex is a top tier drag queen Cookier with a heart as big as Texas who has a full time cookie biz and teaches cookie decorating in drag around the U.S.
Alex is a three time food network alumni!
Alex is also a member of the Genie Ambassador Special Events team.

Becca Duggar
The Docia Mack (Louisiana)

In addition to being a creative cookie genius, Becca runs a successful cookie biz and recently taught a class at CookieCon Reno on the science of royal icing!  She has also taught at two prior Genie Retreats.  She too, is a Food Network alumni. 

Alicia Arbaugh
Royal Raven Cookies (Texas)

Alicia is another successful cookie biz operator and she is making her retreat teaching debut after attending so many retreats and cookie cruises that I have lost count.  I think she may have the retreat program down better than I do!
If there is a cookie competition going on you can bet that Alicia is there and bringing home a prize for her over the top creations.

Please note: This event runs from Friday May 16 at 1 pm to
Sunday, May 18 at approx 2pm please plan your transportation accordingly. We are located on Galveston Island approximately an hour from Houston Hobby airport

All class sessions will be held at the Creative Cookier Studio in historic Galveston, Texas.

Accommodations are at Ginny & Doug Levack’s personal beach view home, The Blue Unicorn, in the West End of Galveston Island.
 Note: Our furbaby, Sadie, WILL be at the home!

There are three floors of multi-guest rooms.
• The Surf Shack is located on Level one - this area sleeps 5 or 6 and is usually reserved for our instructors and one or two helper/attendees. This area also has a small living area and bathroom with shower.

• Level 2 (outdoor stairs or indoor elevator access)- has the master suite (not usually available cause I gotta sleep somewhere!) and two guest rooms that each sleep 3 cozily: The Sunny Daze and Mermaid Magic rooms share a bath and each feature a slim twin bed that’s a tad narrower than a classic twin and a queen bed (bring a cookie friend and share the queen bed and expenses or you can choose to have the queen bed to yourself but there will likely be a guest in the twin)
Note: Sunny Daze has French doors that open out to the level 2 deck with gulf views, a hanging bed, sofa, and rockers.  It’s a great place to watch the sunrise over the Gulf of Mexico or chill out after a busy day of decorating.

 

• Level 3 stairs and elevator access- this is the main level of the home with access to both decks and stunning views. It is also home to our final guest room, Spoonbill’s Roost. This room has a twin bed and a queen bed (bring a cookie friend and share the queen bed and expenses or you can choose to have the queen bed to yourself, but there will be a guest in the twin). There is a full bath just outside this room.

Friday
1-2 pm
Check in at the Creative Cookier Studio and create a fun project to get to know everyone before we kick off our weekend of cookies, adventures and more!
2pm
Your first class session begins.
6pm
Dinner and more and when I say more I mean MORE!
After that, we will head to The Blue Unicorn to get you settled into your accommodations.
But, don’t stay up too late because ya gotta get up early and head back to the studio.

Saturday- PJ’s All Day!
We will drop by the Seawall Coffee Shop around 8:30 am on our way to the studio for a PJ’s breakfast
 then be at the Studio at
10am
Class will start promptly because we have a lot to get through today!
about 12:30-
catered Lunch and then class resumes
6pm
Head to Ginny & Doug's to prepare for dinner and one of our crazy party adventures…more details on that to follow.

and brunch will be served in so we can be sure to get everything done and photographed by 2 pm
